We are on top of the world today. Each time we watch it, we are filled with joy. One month of hard work has just now gotten visible for everyone and is ready to be shared. It is a beautiful feeling to think back about all the work done during this month to prepare the song and the video whilst hearing the lines of this beautiful cover from OneRepublic, “I Lived”.

One month ago we woke up with the idea to do a quarantine video that would involve a big deal of musicians. The good ones, the most influent ones, the same ones we have come across during our numerous travels.

What song to pick up?
Let’s pick up something famous, something that we wouldn’t normally do and let’s turn it around with a proper blues arrangement.
A fan recommended “I Lived”, for the eloquent message its lyrics bring.
We thought no other message could be more pertinent with the current situation worldwide.
We are facing a true mankind cataclysm, where innocent people are dying and our heroes are not celebrated enough. The deeds of all those paramedics, doctors, stretcher bearers, nurses, volunteers struggle to resonate amongst the economic blackouts, the politician speeches and the what-ifs.

Hope that you fall in love, and it hurts so bad
The only way you can know is give it all you have
And I hope that you don’t suffer but take the pain
Hope when the moment comes, you’ll say...

I, I did it all
— OneRepublic

We must not forget all those people who are suffering and dying because of the COVID-19.
For them we would like to dedicate our version of ‘I Lived’.

When we first heard the original version, although we are absolute fans of it, we thought to re-arrange it in a more appropriate Cin-Bros sound. Since we knew that we would involve a fair amount of percussionists and rhythm kings, we decided that a nice New Orleans groove would fit perfectly.
We kept the song in the same key, A Maj, and 95% of the original structure. Perhaps you noticed this already, but the na-na-na line after the chorus is exactly the same one to the note as Ryan Tedder sings, but obviously the notes have a different timing.

We are hoping this link will go viral on Facebook.
The more we are involved and we share, donate and let donate, the better for the cause.
Would this just resonate as a rock in the ocean, it is better than no rock at all.

Enjoy!

Special thanks goes to Dialog Music who took on the shoulders the task to edit the video.
